John Cena: Whether you’re cheering or booing the man hailing from West Newbury, Massachusetts, there’s no denying he’s made his mark on the WWE Universe. He took his first glimpse of the WWE Universe on June 27th, 2002 where he faced off against Kurt Angle and has been on a rollercoaster of a ride since; adding championships, slammy awards and many other famed accomplishments to make an impressive list of accolades.

He may not hold claim to being the greatest technical wrestler or the greatest performer, but there is no denying that the man who leads a nation goes out there everyday and gives the crowd his all; his work ethic is a thing to be admired. If he’s not wrestling: he’s signing, making movies, making music, offering his time to worthwhile causes or working out—the man literally works non-stop.

But the man isn’t all muscle, no brains; he obtained a degree in Exercise Physiology which he puts to use, making him a better, smarter athlete than the competition; whether in training or practice.
Strangely, John Cena etched his mark on Sports Entertainment on a Halloween-themed edition of WWE SmackDown, dressing up as Vanilla Ice and performing a rap which led to a total flip for his character and garnered him much success. He adopted the phrase of “Basic Thuganomics” and became the “Doctor” of such; berating his opponents whilst sending the audience into a frenzy.

This persona put him on the path to greatness as he would feud with superstars such as Kurt Angle, Booker T, Chris Jericho, Undertaker and JBL—and ultimately attain the finest prize in the business: the WWE Championship on the Grandest Stage of ‘em all, WrestleMania.

Being champion comes with its benefits and John Cena found himself looking outside of the wrestling business, making a studio album (You Can’t See Me) and starring in his own movie, The Marine.

His career has certainly been on a high and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down; garnering more reigns, slammy awards, critic awards, three more starring roles in films and worldwide renown.
